Advanced APT Training Course


Course Overview

This three day educational offering instructs the student to work with the advanced functions of APT.   Some of the possible things covered are: Looping, Macros, Family of Parts Programming and Mutli-Axis Programming.   This class is generally tailored to the needs of the attendees.

Intended Audience

This course is structured for manufacturing engineers, NC programmers, machinists with some knowledge of computers.   Basic APT training is required for this course!   We recommend that you attend the Basic APT Course before attending this course.

Course Objective

To teach each student to:

How to expand their APT programming skills.
How to create advanced repetitive routines using MACRO and LOOPING logic.
Use advanced methods of family part programs.

Prerequisites

The student should have a working knowledge mathematics (i.e. algebra and trigonometry). Additionally, the student should have a machine shop background and understand basic machine shop fundamentals.   A basic understanding of the APT programming language is required.

Course Materials

The student will be issued an APT programming manual.   A variety of visual aids will be provided as well.
